For the record, Dr Dre hasn't released an album since 1999's 2001 LP. Even though it's been a span of 13 years since Dre put out a project, the legendary rapper and producer tops Forbes' list of the World's 25 Highest-Paid Musicians. From May 2011 to May 2012, Dre took in $110 million. That's major bank, with most of the money coming in from his hugely popular Beats by Dre headphones. Dre took in $100 million when HTC bought a 51 percent stake in his headphones last year.
Dre also took in cash from his catalog and concert performances. Right behind Dre is Pink Floyd leader Roger Waters ($88 million), Elton John ($80 million), last year's number one U2 ($78 million) and Take That ($69 million). What's interesting about this list is most of the highest money getters are getting their money because of touring, unlike Dre and his headphones.
